Departing From Me
Solo Exhibition -
December 2024
La Galerilla, Pueblo Garzón, Uruguay.

Departing From Me is an installation of fabrics and sculptures set inside an old train carriage. The fabrics hang from the ceiling in a row, one behind the other, along the length of the carriage, requiring visitors to pass through them to reach the end of the space. There, they encounter a series of seven sculptures. These works were created in the Uruguayan landscape of Rocha. The fabrics were painted with watercolors made from the native flora of the area and infused with the scent of essential oils extracted from Carobá and Arrayán—trees native to Rocha—through a steam distillation process. This is the transmuted fabric, no longer a representation of the landscape but the landscape itself.

Watch Me Doing
Performance -
July 2024
Quimera, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Watch me Doing is an installation of dried clay pieces threaded onto iron structures that represent a small garden. Assembling the garden is the most important part of the artwork. It comes to life through a performance in which I showcase my production process. For a set period of time, visitors were able to watch from the gallery’s window display that overlooks the space where the work was taking place or come down and visit the garden while I worked. Watch me Doing It is the rebellion
against my own ideas of productivity.

What was it that I wanted to do? Ah... it was something with a garden. The vegetation was made of clay. The leaves were different, but they shared a curious similarity. As if they had been made with a single movement. Someone was molding them from behind. It was me. I was kneading the foliage, again and again, obediently. People appeared, peeking through a bolt – you were there – while a radio grew shadows, swearing fruits of monstrous size. I remember a girl distributing bone broth while reciting a poem; a bishop moved, a daughter played a flute shaped like a pig, and her mother read stories. A piano went into a delirium, and the garden grew out of control with the mimicry of doing. Something like that
Still Here
Solo Exhibition - March 2024
Log Onomichi, Hiroshima, Japan.

Still Here brings together a series of pieces that began during an art residency in Onomichi,  located in southeastern Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan. It was exhibited in LOG, as a site specific installation. These canvases made of hanpu and crafted in an old textile factory in Mukaishima Island, bear the imprint of my own wandering around LOG, transferring the surface of everything I encounter. Objects, trees, walls, stones are transcribed onto these canvases. The resulting pieces etch the landscape as an emotional narrative map of this specific territory.
